Can I take a course for free?

There are a few courses on edX.org that you may browse without payment or without free access expiring*.

• CS50's Introduction to Computer Science: You can read more on the CS50 FAQs: How do I get my free CS50 Certificate? 
• Select Stanford University courses are available for free and offer Continuing Medical Education credits instead of certificates.
• HarvardX courses Mechanical Ventilation for COVID-19 and Ventilación mecánica para pacientes con COVID-19 are available for free and offer no certificates.
• OxfordX courses (English) International Standards on Freedom of Expression and Safety of Journalists and (Spanish) Normas Internacionales para la Libertad de Expresión y la Seguridad de los Periodistas are available for free and offer no certificates. These courses are also available in other languages.
• PrincetonX courses are available for free and offer no certificates.
• HP courses award a coupon, posted on the enrollment page below the title, that you may use to upgrade the course for free.
• Select ACCA courses are available for free and offer no certificates:

  • Introduction to Bookkeeping

  • Intermediate Bookkeeping

  • Intermediate Management Accounting

  • Introduction to Management Accounting

Please note: edX verified certificates of achievement are available on the paid verified track.
