Most courses that offer verified certificates offer Financial Assistance for learners who cannot afford the verified certificate fee. To find a course that interests you, review the edX course catalog. To apply for Financial Assistance, complete the financial assistance application. If a course is not eligible it may not appear as an option on the form after you have enrolled.
Most Programs offer Financial Assistance
Financial Assistance is available for most MicroMasters, Professional Certificate, MicroBachelors, and XSeries Programs. However you will need to enroll as an audit learner in each course in the program individually and then complete the application.
It's not possible to complete a financial assistance application for the entire program as a bundle using the Pursue the Program button. We recommend that you enroll and complete each course one by one. Please review Option 2 on this page for instructions.
Ineligible courses
It's not possible to apply for assistance through the edX Financial Assistance application for:
- Professional Education courses
- Executive Education
- Boot Camps
- select MicroMasters™ program courses (most are eligible)
- any courses that are not available in the free audit track
If an edX.org course is unavailable in the audit track and thus ineligible, the course introduction page will NOT mention a FREE option but will instead indicate a Cost to Enroll
