The Proctortrack Onboarding exam establishes your identity with Proctortrack and helps you make sure the Proctortrack exam software works on your device. Once you have approved onboarding status in any edX course, it's valid towards all edX courses that use Proctortrack exams.
Please note that if you were approved for onboarding in another edX.org course within the past 12 months, you are approved for onboarding in all courses on edX.
Once you click into the onboarding section of the course you will see the following. Please click 'continue to onboarding':
Next, you will see the following page. Please click 'Start System Check':
You will now see a new, Proctortrack window:
Please read this message, and then click the blue 'X' to close the pop up window. You will then be led through downloading the Proctortrack software, completing a system check, and taking photos of your face and ID photo.
During the face scan please make sure your face is filling the frame before clicking 'Scan'. After that, follow the on-screen prompts.
If dissatisfied with the scans, click "No" to take the scan again. Otherwise, click "Yes" to proceed.
Next please read through the instructions for a valid photo ID scan and click "Next".
Hold a photo ID card (such as a license, passport, or school ID) up to the camera and click "Scan". Please make sure that your ID is clear and legible. Proctortrack must be able to clearly read the name on your ID in order for your onboarding exam to pass.
Click "No" if you are not satisfied with the scan. You can rescan your ID card as many times as needed or click "Yes" to proceed.
You will then be directed from the PT app back to edX. You will see a blue frame around your screen with a ‘You are being monitored’ message. At this point you will see the following edX page again. Please click 'Start Exam':
Next, click 'Start my exam':
You can then answer the questions in the onboarding exam.
It may take up to two days for Proctortrack to review your onboarding exam, so we recommend taking onboarding as early as possible.
Once your onboarding exam is reviewed, you will receive an email alerting you of your onboarding status. You can also look at your course's main page to see your onboarding status in that course.
