Photo verification can be completed on most computers or mobile devices with an up to date browser.
Unfortunately the edX support team is not able to review verification photos by email. These must be submitted through the verification web page which is secured and sends these images directly to our verification service in an encrypted form.
If you run into issues or see an error here are some tips:
- Switch browsers to a current version of Chrome or Firefox (If you are using one please try the other).
- At the top of your browser window, a message may ask you to share the camera with edx.org. To see and respond to this message every time you take or retake a photograph for the verification process, select Share Selected Device. To share the webcam throughout the process select Always Share.
- Try an alternate internet connection. Some secure network connections, such as the internet connection in a place of employment, block users from uploading their photos successfully.
- If you continue to have trouble, we recommend using a different computer or device to submit your photos, then return to your computer to take the course.
