You can view your current grade in a course by clicking the Progress tab in the course.
As you work through the graded assignments in a course, your scores will appear on the Progress tab of your course.
Progress scores stop updating after the course end date has passed.
New Progress page
Most courses display your Progress using this new Progress page experience. Here, your total score is indicated on the Grades bar by Your current grade. It's also indicated on the Grade summary table across from Your current weighted grade summary.
In order to pass the course and earn the Certificate, Your current grade must meet or exceed the Passing grade indicated on the Grades bar.
Legacy Progress page
In some select courses, the Progress page still displays the legacy progress page experience. Your course team decides which one is displayed.
The Progress tab contains a chart of all graded assignments in the course and below that, a list of all assignments and their scores.
To pass and earn a certificate in the verified track you will need a total score meeting or exceeding the "Pass" line between the gray and white sections on the graph by the course end date.
You can confirm which bar corresponds to which assignment by hovering over the bar or clicking its label on the bottom. A tooltip will display the name of the assignment.
Note: Only graded assignments appear in the graph and count towards your final score. Ungraded "practice" assignments are not shown in the graph.
The "average" columns show your cumulative average for all assignments of that type through your course. This will rise as you complete more assignments of that type.
For details on individual problem scores within an assignment, review View Your Grading Details.
Notes about grading
All questions regarding grading and course content are best addressed in your course discussion forum. It is there that course staff can directly read and respond to your query.
Note: Most edX courses post their grading policy in the course syllabus. Both the syllabus and the discussion forum are available once your class has begun.
In some high stakes courses the staff may hide the progress tab during the final exam. These will be restored shortly after the course end date.
